COMPLAINT FILED

Today, we filed the complaint in Ms. Aragon’s second lawsuit, seeking monetary damages and equitable relief related directly to the Denver District Attorney’s Office’s (failed) efforts to use the prosecutorial system for an improper purpose: to coerce a guilty plea from Ms. Aragon.

The case is captioned Aragon v. Walsh, et al., Denver District Court Case No. 25CV_____. The judge assigned to hear the case is ______.

The plainiff is Celina Aragon. Defendants are John Walsh, the Denver District Attorney; Matthew Schlager and Elizabeth Weber, the Deputy District Attorneys who willfully and maliciously prosecuted Ms. Aragon; Dan Hines, a P.O.S.T. certified peace officer who works for the Denver DA’s Office and charged Ms. Aragon with menacing in Denver County Court; and Georgia Cameron, a Denver Police Department officer working as a school resource officer who prepared a false and misleading police report that led to Ms. Aragon being criminally prosecuted.

Ms. Aragon asserts four claims for relief:

1) Violation of Article II, Section 25 of the Colorado Constitution (the Due Process Clause);

2) Violation of Separation of Powers doctrine protected by the Colorado Constitution;

3) Malicious prosecution (against Elizabeth Weber); and

4) Abuse of Process (against Matthew Schlager and Elizabeth Weber).
